Katharine Edwards

Hello, I'm Katharine.

I'm a PhD researcher and public relations consultant.

My academic research involves exploring the digital lives of young people. I'm passionate about examining their everyday online experiences, so that we can understand how the internet provides them with exciting and fun opportunities, as well as how to support them in managing the online challenges that they face.

I also specialise in healthcare public relations, and for many decades have worked extensively with a variety of businesses, government and not-for-profit organisations.

I've launched new medications and health products, developed public awareness campaigns, and provided issues management support to clients across a broad range of health areas such as diabetes, asthma, pain relief and cancer treatments.

I've also been involved in the development of early learning centres, and have two high school aged children.

My qualifications

  • Master of Digital Communication & Culture, The University of Sydney (NSW)
  • Bachelor of Arts (Media Studies), Edith Cowan University (Western Australia)
  • PhD Candidate, Department of Media and Communications, The University of Sydney (NSW)
